The sound of pictures

Various glitch experiments by treating pictures as sound within an audio editor.

By saving a picture as channel separated TIFF, it becomes possible to open it in an audio editor as raw data. The representation of the image as a waveform can hence be altered in the same way as an audio file.

The series contains all kind of experiments: from applying diverse effects on different parts of the waveform, to inversion, cuts, recorded audio and music as replacing content, or generated waveforms.

The detailed description for every resulting picture can be found within the weekly uploads on the tumblr blog.

Please note that this is a school project and treated as experiment/art. The original images have been found on the internet, so copyright applies to them. This series was merely treated like a visual remix.
